Video views for Instagram carousels 📷

Based on a recent change by Instagram we can now show video views for Instagram carousel posts. So far Instagram did not provide a view count for these posts. Now it shows the sum of video views across all videos within the carousel. If a carousel includes no videos, no views can be shown.

A new API endpoint has been added to return the schema and meta information of our data sources, including detailed descriptions for each column. This endpoint is especially helpful for building integrations into business intelligence software.

You can now use simple "Save" and "Save as..." options within our custom metric builder. "Save" updates the current metric. "Save as..." creates a copy of that metric using a new name.

Co-labelling now available


We are thrilled to announce that you can now co-label your reports/dashboards with a custom logo. This is another feature that was on top of the wishlist of our clients. Let’s dive in.

How does it work?

In a nutshell, this co-labeling update allows our customers to personalize their dashboards and reports by adding their logo. This customization is available on two access levels:

  • Globally - available in "Spaces", you will be able to set a logo for all dashboards/reports within the Space.
  • Specific to a dashboard - you can set/overwrite your logo for each specific dashboard/report independently.

How to get started?

Depending on the usage, whether you would like to have a global brand setup or more granular setting, navigate to either “Admin Settings / Space” and set the logo there, or visit the dashboard that you would like to brand and click edit. In both cases, once you click save, the logo will be saved and displayed in any shared/exported resources, whether it is a jpg/png/pdf/link export or automated reports. The newly selected logo will be added there.

Pricing and availability

Co-labelling is already available for free to everyone as of today. It is automatically added to any accounts that are enrolled to the new subscription model. Users, who are currently still on the old subscription model will get free three months trial access to this feature. 🥇 quintly now supports IGTV!


We are happy to announce that quintly has added IGTV to its data source collection. It was especially sought after by a lot of our clients and we are very thrilled to deliver it to you just one day after the official release (as of 16th of March 2021). This update brings both public and private data from IGTV. Let’s dive in 😀.

Data sources

instagramTvPosts - Holding public information about IGTV videos of Instagram Business or Creator Accounts, including interaction rate, comments, likes, and follower counts.

instagramInsightsTvPosts - Holding information about IGTV videos of Instagram Business or Creator Accounts with all their private statistics attached. It includes the above plus reach, engagement, number of times saved, impressions, and more.

Those data sources do not include regular posts (covered extensively by other sets) or Reels (they are not yet available).

Metrics

As always, we have created some default metrics to get you started. What is important to mention is that no existing metrics are affected by this update, so no review on your side will be required.

This was one of the most requested features/data points by our customers and we are happy to deliver it so quickly (huge thank you to our team 👏👏👏). Happy analyzing!

🤩 YouTube Analytics just got super charged!

We are pleased to announce an important update to YouTube metrics. This is the first iteration, focusing on the deep-level metrics on the video level, including a historic development of a single video. The second iteration will soon follow, introducing metrics on the Channel and Playlist level. It is safe to say that thanks to this improvement, we match metrics available on YouTube itself, putting quintly at the forefront of social media analytics tools when it comes to YouTube. Let's dive in.

Process

Working with YouTube analytics on video level always came with caveats. The sheer amount of data that each video contains and the API limitations only allowed us to perform a snapshot analysis (data snap from the time requested). The process also caused occasional timeouts via Youtube API. It was virtually impossible to get data on many videos in a single request due to YouTube’s limitations.

Having all of those challenges on hand, we have decided to completely rethink how we handle the private stats on the video level. We have opted for storing the data in our data layer. This route has completely reshaped how and what kind of data will be accessible to you and at an astonishing speed.

Data

This update has created and updated data sources: 

  • youtubeAnalyticsVideos - private-level aggregated data on videos created within the selected time period.
  • youtubeAnalyticsTopVideos - [UPDATE] private-level data of the top videos within the channel from the selected time period. The update removes any previous limitations of a maximum of 200 videos.
  • youtubeAnalyticsVideosTimeSeries - interval-based private-level data (daily, weekly, monthly) for each video.

Behind each of those, there is a massive volume of organized records that is time-based. Each of those data sources would have different use cases ranging from 10 best performing videos over time to performance of the video for the 30 first days.

What's next

With this update, we have finally closed the gap for historical data for YouTube single videos. There was so much performance work done to handle this sheer amount, so we are confident that our clients will find this in-depth analytics very useful. As mentioned above, the first batch of default metrics has already been delivered, you can find them here and here. The second iteration of this analytics, including Channel and Playlist data, will follow shortly.

TikTok data now available!



Happy New Year from quintly! We are very excited to announce that Tiktok analytics are now available within our platform! This was one of the biggest requests from you in 2020, so we are happy to deliver it fresh into the new year.

How is Tiktok tracked?
Building on top of the open TikTok API, we are able to track your profiles and their posts. Once you start tracking a profile on quintly, we will store historic data about that profile starting from this point onwards.

What data is tracked?
As mentioned above, quintly tracks data available via the open TikTok API:
- On Profile level: following and followers count, the number of likes and videos. This data is served on a time series basis so you can track changes over time.
- On Posts level: basic information (the thumbnail, link description, and hashtags), length, challenges, and music attached to the video, performance-based (views, likes, comments, and shares) and post tags.

Default metrics
As it is a completely new data source, we have created default metrics. As always, the real power of the metrics would be the use cases that you will create. TikTok is available for post tagging, custom metric builder, and API instantly. The new data sources sit directly alongside other data from other networks in our data layer, so it can be combined in cross-network reports.

How to get started
Tracking a TikTok profile requires authentication. Simply go to the Account > Profiles section in quintly, click "New profiles", and then make use of the "Continue with TikTok" option. You will be asked to grant permissions to access information of your TikTok profile.And that's it! You can now start tracking your TikTok profile in quintly.

We are extremely excited to bring this feature to you, so go ahead and add TikTok to your social media analytics mix!

Major update to Twitter private metrics

With the availability of Twitter's new v2 API endpoints, Twitter has made a lot more metrics available per Tweet. Thanks to this update, Twitter has closed the gap between their native analytics and the data that they pass via API.

We are happy to announce that as soon as this API became available, we have started implementing it and now we can present it to you.

What has changed

This update enriches the private-level stats of Tweets. Please find below the list of changes:

- Most metrics are now available as total, organic, and promoted metrics (e.g. total, organic, and promoted impressions).
- Video View Quartiles, defined as the number of users who played through to each quartile in the video included in a Tweet.
- URL Link Clicks, defined as the number of times a user clicks on a URL link or URL preview card in a Tweet.
- User Profile Clicks, defined as the number of times a user clicks the following portions of a Tweet: display name, user name, profile picture.

Data

Further to the above, we have added more meta information regarding the Tweet, e.g. the length (in milliseconds) of a video attached to a Tweet, or whether a Tweet is a Quoted Tweet or not, mentioned users, hashtags, annotations, links, and the language a Tweet is written in.

With all of those updates to data sources, we have also updated the related default metrics. Below, you can find a few that already utilize the new Twitter data:

Independent filter states 🧩

This update brings a change to filters across the platform. Profile, date, post text, and post tags were by default shared as global filters. This behavior might have been confusing for our users, especially when they were navigating between the “Tags” and “Analysis” section. This update will improve this experience by unlinking those filters from the global view.

How it works
As mentioned above by filter we mean profile, date, post text, and tags selectors. If you are a logged-in user, and you have created the filter (for example, you filter by post tags or keywords in a specific dashboard) and you navigate away from the dashboard/metric builder/quick analysis, your selection will be bonded to this specific view only. This addition will allow you to create a more personalized view with your own specific filters. It removes the necessity of changing through the profiles or other filters to adjust it to your needs. Once the filter is set on the view, it is bounded to it

What next
While this improvement solves the filter selection per view, it is bound to the logged-in user. Our next iteration of this improvement will be adding this functionality across all of the users using the specific space, allowing all of them to view maintain the same view for all of them. This is currently in the works, so stay tuned.
